Behr Paint revealed its 2020 Color of the Year – Back To Nature, a restorative, meadow-inspired green.
Just as plants release oxygen into the air, incorporating this ecological green in your home helps purify and promote a balanced space – bringing the outside, inside. Behr selected Back To Nature as the 2020 Color of the Year because it captures the emotion of wilderness landscapes and indoor gardens while being subtle enough to serve as a new neutral.
“As we look ahead to a new decade, Back To Nature encourages us to reengage with the natural world, which we know can have a real, positive impact on our well-being,” said Erika Woelfel, VP of color and creative services at Behr. “Everyone has a different way of engaging with nature. Whether you’re biking on a forest path, canoeing on a lake or walking on the beach, green is prevalent in nearly every outdoor landscape—it is easily nature’s favorite color.”
"[This] marks Behr Paint’s third annual Color of the Year announcement. We’ve celebrated the launch of each hue in a distinct, eye-catching, experiential way – starting with a real home built in New York City’s Grand Central Terminal in 2017, followed by a pop-up color shop in the trendy SoHo neighborhood last year," said Jodi Allen, chief marketing officer at The Behr Paint Company. "This year, to go all-in on our spotlight color, we decided to truly go 'back to nature' and invited a small group of VIPs to escape chaotic city life and experience the new hue for the first time in an unexpected location not far from our Orange County headquarters in Napa Valley, California.
"We debuted our 2020 Color of the Year at Calistoga Ranch, a private Napa retreat that embodies the spirit of Back To Nature by embracing its natural surroundings and seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor living spaces. Back To Nature makes it easy for homeowners to purify and promote balance in and outside of their home, and Calistoga Ranch offered the perfect backdrop to announce this trending color and connect with nature."
