KCC and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries have developed color designs to create a pleasant work environment and enhance safety at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Ulsan Headquarters. KCC has decided to develop color designs related to the environment and safety with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and signed a business agreement (MOU) related to this.
Through this agreement, KCC plans to collaborate in various fields such as research and production of an environmental and safety color design manual at the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Ulsan headquarters, support for the interior and exterior color design of buildings and facilities and branding and promotional content design. In particular, after signing the agreement, the two companies plan to closely analyze the environmental and safety points of the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries shipping plant site and promote customized color design and improvement of product specifications accordingly, and actively cooperate to create a site environment with high safety and stability for workers.
KCC plans to actively reflect the Color & Design Research Center’s ‘Color Universal Design’ (CUD) philosophy and know-how to increase safety at the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries site and contribute to creating a better work environment. Color Universal Design is a design technique that utilizes color matching and differences in brightness and saturation so that anyone can easily recognize colors regardless of disability, age, or cultural background. In industrial sites, it can help prevent accidents, induce quick responses, and even provide psychological stability, thereby increasing the safety and satisfaction of workers.

KCC and LG Chem recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the KCC Central Research Center in Mabuk-dong, Yongin in-si for research and development of technologies related to environmentally friendly materials and coatings.
Through this MOU, KCC and LG Chem will apply environmentally friendly raw materials based on carbon dioxide conversion or microbial fermentation to coating resin synthesis, and jointly develop them in various coating fields such as automobiles, auto parts, industry and mobile applications.

KCC completed the application of its flagship flooring product, KCC Sensetile, in a library operated by Aramco, the world’s largest state-run oil producer in Saudi Arabia.
KCC Sensetile GS1587C was shipped last May to the construction site of the Dhahran Recreation Library based in Dhahran, and its full application to over 1,000 square meters was successfully complete in early September.

Two products including anti-corrosion coatings for ships have been selected as World Class Products of Korea by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) for 10 consecutive years. The products continuously selected since 2009 include anti-corrosion coatings for ships (Korepox EH2350) and ceramic material for vacuum circuit breakers (Vacuum Interrupter), as well as antifouling coatings for ships (Seacare A/F795) that has been selected for eight consecutive years dating back to 2011.
In particular, the anti-corrosion coatings for ships “Korepox EH2350” selected as World Class Products of Korea for 10 consecutive years. Moreover, ‘Vacuum Interrupter’ is a ceramic material for vacuum circuit breakers separating circuitry in case of normal load break of currents or accidents.
The antifouling coatings for ships “Seacare A/F795” selected as World Class Products of Korea for 8 consecutive years is a product that protects ships from marine life inhabiting the body of ships that sail for a long time and increases sailing efficiency, thereby conserving fuel usage.

Following the acquirement of Atopy Safe Mark for all KCC flooring materials for the first time in Korea, KCC has launched KCC SUP Green Pyeonbaek which is an eco-friendly flooring material that contains natural phytoncide.
The KCC SUP Green Pyeonbaek is a product that has upgraded the eco-friendliness of flooring materials to the next level by actively reflecting the demands of consumers who prefer eco-friendly products even for interior materials such as flooring and windows.
Phytoncide is a natural antibacterial substance that is discharged by trees to fight off pests and germs, and through its sterilization effect, it is known to inhibit reproduction of dust mites that can induce atopic diseases.
KCC SUP Green Pyeonbaek is a light linoleum with a thickness of 1.8mm It is a flooring material for use in homes. The product offers excellent sterilization and deodorizing effects because it contains cypress tree oil extracts in the UV coating layer. The UV coating layer is the upper most layer of PVC flooring materials, which is made with several layers of different types of sheets. It highly durable as it comes in direct contact with users.
One of the company’s key products is Firemask SQ-1350, a fire resistant paint that has won certification from the Korea Institute of Construction Technology for offering one-hour fire resistance, with a minimum coating thickness of 0.7 mm.
KCC recently held a signing ceremony at the Asan Foundation located in Seoul for repainting work to improve the environment and scenery of Asan Medical Centers nationwide. Through this agreement, KCC will support 1.2 billion won in painting work for Asan Medical Centers located in seven regions. The paints used are not only environmentally friendly paints such as SUPRO Multimel Gold and SUPRO Well-being but also other various functional paints, which include waterproofing materials like Sporthane.
