Sika Automotive announces its participation as both a presenting speaker and exhibitor at the 2016 Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) Thermoplastic Polyolefins (TPO) Conference, October 2-5 at the Troy Marriott, Troy, Michigan.
Engineered TPOs are one of the most widely-used materials in automotive interior and exterior applications. Although TPOs are versatile materials for molded components, they also present difficulties when laminating or bonding are desired. In response to automakers’ growing reliance on TPO components, Sika has developed a range of adhesives to meet the challenge of bonding TPO with a variety of different substrates.
Helmut Doyen, Sika Automotive Director of OES Sales, will present on the topic of, “Interior Trim Lamination Development,” highlighting the lessons learned from Sika’s decades of adhesive development experience - with particular attention to bonding challenges in the vehicle interior environment. The presentation will be on Tuesday, October 4th at 4:00 PM in the “Adhesives & Coatings for TPOs” session, located in Conference Hall-II.
In addition to Mr. Doyen’s presentation, Sika Automotive is also exhibiting at the conference, and will highlight its SikaMelt®, SikaSense® and SikaTherm interior adhesive products at Booth No. 56.
The SPE TPO Automotive Engineered Polyolefins Conference has been organized by the SPE Detroit Section for the past 18 years. It has become a leading forum for presenting and exhibiting the latest developments on the use of rigid and elastomeric thermoplastic polyolefins in the automotive industry.
