The company ranks No. 3 in the chemicals industry category, up from No. 4 in 2018.

PPG ranks in the top 5 in its industry in the following categories (rank in parenthesis):
  • Innovation (2);
  • People management (3);

  • Social responsibility (3);
  • Quality of management (4);
  • Financial soundness (3);

According to Fortune, the list – a collaboration with Korn Ferry – includes the 1,000 largest U.S. companies ranked by revenue, along with non-U.S. companies in Fortune’s Global 500 database that have revenues of $10 billion or more.

“We then winnowed the assortment to the highest-revenue companies in each industry, a total of 680 in 30 countries,” Fortune.com reports. “The top-rated companies were picked from that pool of 680.”
