Rust-Oleum has introduced Zinsser Peel Stop Triple Thick High Build Binding Primer, an interior/exterior primer specially formulated to lock down peeling paint and seal weathered surfaces. Offering three times the thickness of regular primers, Peel Stop Triple Thick penetrates to seal, fill and level worn and weathered substrates to provide a more uniform surface for the topcoat with a smoother finish said the company. The company also said it offers easy flow and leveling and can be applied up to 30 mils wet without sagging to make rough surfaces smoother.
Peel Stop Triple Thick is ideal for interior or exterior surfaces like previously painted wood siding, windows, baseboards, trim, doors and fences. It also can be used to lock down peeling paint on metal gutters and downspouts, concrete, PVC/plastic, plywood, brick, stucco, masonry, aluminum, aluminum siding, galvanized steel and fiberglass. In ASTM D2370 independent lab tests, Peel Stop Triple Thick's flexibility was confirmed. Peel Stop Triple Thick dries white for added hide. It dries to the touch in 30 minutes and can be topcoated in as little as two hours. The low odor, low VOC, water-based formula can be used under or over any oil-base or water-based topcoat. It is available in quarts, gallons and five gallon pails.
