U.S. Silica has announced EverWhite Pigment, a newly engineered, specialized pigment. This can be used to partially replace or compliment other inorganic white pigments such as titanium dioxide (TiO2) and aluminum trihydrate (ATH).
"Our EverWhite® Pigment disperses more easily, the bright-white color maintains its quality, and the flexibility in opacity helps with the depth effect of products,” said Zach Caruson, EVP and president of Industrial & Specialty Products at U.S. Silica.
U.S. Silica reports that the material for EverWhite is domestically sourced and contains a durability and hardness that mirrors the functionality of other (TiO2) high performing pigments. Customer applications encompasses coating formulations, quartz countertops, fillers for plastics, cementitious products, and numerous building products. The company reports that in using EverWhite, customers are able to reduce their usage of TiO2 by up to 50%, resulting in significantly saving costs.
