Ashland Inc. has issued a new third-edition update to its Performance Specialties Reference Guide. This in-depth tool covers Ashland industrial specialty products worldwide used in a vast number of applications, including:
Inks and printing
Adhesives
Specialty coatings
Civil engineering
Advanced and traditional ceramics
Electronics
Battery manufacturing
Metal processing and metal working
Mining
Textile
Paper coatings
Products in the guide are divided into four major groups: vinyl monomers, performance polymers, specialty chemicals, and surfactants, solvents and intermediates. They cover the core chemistries sold through Ashland’s Performance Specialties unit: hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), methylcellulose (MC), carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), hydroxypropylcellulose (HPC), and vinyl pyrrolidones and its derivatives.
The reference guide provides detailed descriptions of chemistry types, chemical characterizations, functionality, physical properties, performance characteristics, applications and benefits. It also provides a complete list of generic chemical names for Ashland’s trademarked brand name products.
“This is an invaluable tool for manufacturers and chemists,” said Richard Cho, director of global marketing for Industrial Specialties, Ashland. “It unifies our global lines and can be the foundation for companies looking to develop new products or improve existing ones. It can help them find the right product to reduce costs, improve product performance, enhance quality, or enhance the environmental profile of a product.”
