During the European Coatings SHOW 2017, Sun Chemical Advanced Materials launched new BURNOCK AC 2530 polyol resin for air dry curing systems/chemistries developed by DIC.
The new acrylic polyol for air dry melamine technology from Sun Chemical’s Advanced Materials division brings the same performance properties widely desired from a stoving system to an air dry system. There are no baking ovens required and no pot-life limitations with the BURNOCK AC 2530 polyol while providing the same durability as heat-cured systems.
“BURNOCK AC 2530 is yet another example of Sun Chemical and DIC Corporation’s commitment to bringing our customers high quality solutions that improve production processes,” said Mike Venturini, Marketing Director, Coatings, Sun Chemical. “Stoving processes are the standard for OEM applications for durability, scratch and chemical resistance, but it is challenging for large parts and temperature sensitive substrates to be stoved. The cost of energy to bake a paint at high temperatures is enormous. Our new polyol technology brings stoving performance to an air dry system, delivering our customers an environmentally friendly, durable and reliable acrylic resin to their coatings.”
BURNOCK AC 2530 acrylic polyols allows for on-site repair or maintenance coatings and means less capital for starting an assembly line.
