Recognizing the importance of sharing practical, technical information to the corrosion prevention industry, KTA-Tator, Inc. launched a new format for providing content on their free educational website: KTA University Podcasts.
The podcasts feature experts from KTA presenting or debating a variety of coatings-related and steel/concrete fabrication-related issues. A few of the debates planned for 2018 also include experts from outside of KTA.
The inaugural podcast is 33 minutes long and was released Jan. 22, 2018.
“Inorganic vs. Organic Zinc-Rich Primers” features two KTA Coatings Experts debating the merits and use of both types of zinc primers. Ken Trimber moderates as Jim Machen advocates the use of organic zinc-rich primers, and Bill Corbett promotes the use of inorganic zinc-rich primers. The benefits and challenges of both are debated, providing viewers with plenty of information to draw upon when determining which type of primer may be best suited for use on a project-specific basis.
Podcast No. 2, “Total Shop Painting Vs. Shop & Field Painting” will be released Feb. 19, 2018. This 24- minute podcast also features Ken Trimber as moderator, while Doug Reardon advocates total shop painting and John Todd promotes shop painting with field finish coating. Scenarios are posed by Trimber as Todd and Reardon take turns providing support for their approaches while divulging plenty of information on the subject.
A new podcast will be released on the third Monday of each month in 2018. The podcasts can be found on KTA University's website, and on KTA’s YouTube channel.
