One graduate research assistantship position for the M.S. or Ph.D. program is available in the Department of Sustainable Bioproducts at Mississippi State University. The successful candidate will be involved in the development of novel bio-based adhesives for wood-based composite and products. The nature of the project is highly multidisciplinary, and the candidate will receive technical training in the broad field of biomass processing, polymer science & engineering, and synthetic and bio-based adhesives. The results of the project are expected to find applications in wood, polymer, and biochemical industries.
The candidate should have:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in wood science/products, agricultural/biological engineering, chemical engineering, materials science & engineering, chemistry, or closely related disciplines relevant to the topics of the study;
- Maintained good academic standing ;
- GRE test report and TOEFL iBT 79 or IELTS 6.5 (required for international students only)
The target starting date is Spring semester in 2020. The expected enrollment in the program is Jan. 1, 2020. The Department of Sustainable Bioproducts will support this project on funding, which will cover graduate student’s stipend, tuition waiver, and health insurance. Review of the applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
