Innovations in the color, performance and above all the sustainability of Interpon powder coatings will be the key themes of AkzoNobel Powder Coating’s presence at the ZAK World of Facades North America 2022 conference, alongside the development of new digital technologies for architects and specifiers.
A qualified architect, Arturo Lugo, the Specification Sales and Facades expert within the Interpon team, will address a number of new product and service developments in his conference speech, as well as why switching from a traditional liquid coating to a powder coating’s solution is helping not only to deliver business growth, but also supporting a more sustainable future.
Among the innovations the Interpon team will present at the show will be the Interpon Color of the Year for 2023 – Wild Wonder, a color imagined by an international team of color experts, designers and architects from around the world. It’s one of a palette of eight new colors inspired by nature, and how by learning from nature’s shapes, structures and colors, architects can create even more comfortable, beautiful spaces in which to live and work. The colors are inspired by the new Interpon Futura range to be launched early next year.
In terms of digital innovation, Interpon will launch its new 3D color visualization feature in its AkzoNobel Design app to the North American market, part of a suite of digital technologies that allow architects to better understand the use and performance of powder coatings applied to metal in built environments.
The AkzoNobel Design app enables the creation of technical specification documents based on internationally recognized Architectural standards, while the new 3D visualization tool gives customers instant access to three dimensional renderings of the new Interpon Color of the Year palette. Through the clever use of a 360-degree dynamic camera and simulated lighting, the customer can visualize how the color performs to a degree of accuracy and realism not possible before in a virtual environment.
Bob Dirks, Global Segment Manager Architectural, AkzoNobel Powder Coatings, says that Interpon is continually innovating new products and finishes to push the boundaries of what’s possible: “We innovate new colors, textures and finishes to help architects bring their imaginations to life,” she says. “We also innovate new digital services to make it easier for architects to find the right powder coatings for their design.
“But above all else we innovate in sustainability, helping our customers to make the switch from liquid to powder and use a product that provides long lasting solutions, while being easier to apply.”
