The Powder Coating Institute (PCI) recently awarded its 2024 scholarships to deserving students who are studying subjects that can lead to a career in powder coating.
“PCI and our corporate members are excited to help the next generation with our expanding scholarship program,” said PCI executive director Kevin Coursin. “The powder coating industry needs new talent to fill positions as the baby boomers retire. PCI proudly awarded $55,000 in scholarships to worthy students.”
PCI manages the scholarship program, which solicits applications from students from educational institutions throughout the country. PCI member companies also provide support to the scholarship program through corporate sponsorships.
The PCI scholarship program continues to grow and promote the powder coating industry to the younger generations, which include students pursuing degrees in polymer science, manufacturing, engineering, business management, and marketing.
“We had a record number of applicants this year and PCI is eager to turn those interested students into powder coating professionals,” Coursin added.
The 2024 PCI Scholarship Program awarded $55,000 in total, which includes donations of $5,000 from each of PCI’s nine corporate donors: Axalta Coating Systems, Gema USA Inc., Henkel Corporation, IFS Coatings, Nordson Corporation, PPG, Sun Polymers, Therma-Tron-X, Inc., and TCI Powder Coatings.
