PPG announced that its JOHNSTONE’S PAINT brand by PPG has become the lead partner of the World Snooker Tour’s Masters tournament for the next three years. The Masters is the most prestigious and highly anticipated event in the snooker calendar.
The 2025 Johnstone’s Paint Masters will be held at Alexandra Palace, London from Jan. 12-19, 2025. It will feature the world’s top 16 players, who will compete for prize money of £1 million.
Earlier this year, the Johnstone’s Paint brand announced a long-term partnership with the World Snooker Tour, becoming the lead partner for the Players Championship and Tour Championship during the 2024 Players Series.
“Our partnership with the World Snooker Tour continues to be an exhilarating journey for us. The Masters event provides an excellent platform to raise further awareness for our flagship brand,” said Megan Esmond, PPG marketing director UK & Ireland, Architectural Coatings. “It drives engagement with our employees and customers as well as opening up doors to make a difference in the snooker community, through community engagement projects.”
“The Masters has grown so much in recent years – many players consider it the best atmosphere on the tour and it is a title that everyone wants to win,” said Kyren Wilson, the new world champion. “Having landed the world title, the Masters is now at the top of my list. It’s fantastic to bring the Johnstone’s Paint brand on board as title sponsor, I’m sure the team has fantastic ideas to work together with our sport and help us engage with fans.”
“We are delighted to build on this exciting partnership and to continue to create a colorful future by working with the Johnstone’s Paint brand,” said Peter Wright, chief commercial officer, World Snooker Tour. “In recent years, the Masters has made huge leaps forward to the extent that every session is packed with an audience of over 2,000, and the experience of coming to Alexandra Palace has become a bucket list item for fans who love live sport.
“Snooker is enjoying incredible progress in terms of our television audience, live attendance and digital growth and we are pleased to welcome the Johnstone’s Paint brand as part of this journey,” he said. “We will be working closely with the team on a range of initiatives including the company’s outstanding community projects and link with STEM Learning.”
