Online voting for the People’s Choice is now open for the 2024 Tank of the Year contest, presented by Tnemec Company, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance protective coatings. The public can vote for their favorite water tank simply by visiting the site: www.tankoftheyear.com.
“This year’s contest is shaping up to be yet another record year for this contest. As was the case last year, this year we not only have a large number of nominations, but we also have a wide array of construction styles represented in the pool of candidate tanks,” commented Brian Cheshire, Director of the Water Tank Market. “The nominations are indicative of the overall popularity of this contest, as we have received nominations from all over North America.”
Only one vote is allowed per person, but voters can view the front-runners anytime they revisit the site. Voting will be open for two weeks and close on Oct. 18 at 5 p.m. CDT.
After online voting has ended, the water tank receiving the most online votes will be named the People’s Choice tank and will receive an automatic bid as a finalist for the official Tank of the Year title.
The People’s Choice winner and the 11 finalists selected by Tnemec’s committee of tank enthusiasts will be announced on Oct 21. The 2024 Tank of the Year will then be announced on Oct. 25. All finalists and nominees will appear in Tnemec’s 2025 water tank calendar, beginning with the Tank of the Year winner in January.
“Every year, we are consistently amazed by the amount of excitement and hometown pride that this contest generates,” added Cheshire. “A water tank, while being a vital part of a town’s water infrastructure, can truly be a billboard or symbol of pride for many of the communities across the U.S. and Canada. We at Tnemec Company cannot wait to see what levels of enthusiasm and overall ingenuity will spring up in various communities this year as a result of this contest.”
