On Jan. 30, 2025, WEG hosted a delegation of 21 representatives from the U.S. government in recognition of its contributions to economic growth and job creation in the United States. The delegation, representing nine U.S. states, was part of the SelectUSA program, which promotes investment by companies in the U.S.
“It is an honor to receive recognition for WEG’s dedication to growth and job creation in the U.S. Our success creates opportunities for Americans and shows that strong commercial and diplomatic ties between the U.S. and Brazil benefit both nations,” said Peter N. Barry, resident at WEG USA.
With a presence in the U.S. for more than 30 years, WEG employs approximately 2,000 Americans across nine manufacturing plants, producing commercial and industrial motors, generators, transformers, and electrical panels that are essential to U.S. businesses. The company also operates multiple strategically located U.S. warehouses to ensure efficient distribution nationwide.
In 2024, WEG completed the largest acquisition in its history with the purchase of Marathon Electric, a major manufacturer of electric motors and generators with production facilities in Lebanon, MO, and Wausau, WI. This acquisition helps WEG to offer customers a more complete product portfolio and demonstrates its commitment to the American market.
