Job Description:
Develop gravure roll coating processes and formulations for photovoltaic devices on glass panels for improved performance and new product designs. Design, execute, and analyze screening and optimization experiments. Implementation of processes into production with cost-effective formulations and processes. Experience must include: 1) 5+ years’ experience in engineering with exposure to high-volume manufacturing. 2) Experience with gravure roll coating / drying processes and design of experiments. 3) Experience with coating equipment, chemical vendors and collaborate with R&D teams on formulation development. Develop manufacturable process windows to meet coated layer functional requirements. Education requirements must include: 1) BS degree with 5 years’ experience or 2) MS degree with 2 years’ experience in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Physics or a similar technical discipline.

- Experience with wet coating application and drying equipment
- Experience with the fluid mechanics and drying unit operations
- Mechanical aptitude with willingness for hands on equipment upgrades and trouble shooting.
- Demonstrated experience with statistical data analyses, such as Multivariate Analysis, Regression Analysis, Design of Experiments, and Measurement System Analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and execute multi-factor experiments in a manufacturing production environment.
- Experience with using statistical software (JMP preferred)
- Knowledge of MS Office software
- Excellent communications skills
- Proven organizational skills
- Familiarity of semiconductor device physics at basic level, but not a must
- Familiarity with film characterization techniques and measurements such as XRD,SEM,SIMS,AFM,XPS and DMA etc. Be able to know when to request tests, but not a must
