The harsh Sonoran Desert climate is no match for NeverFade Façade Restoration Coatings with Kynar Aquatec.
The high-performance, long-lasting coating looked like it was freshly applied when it was recently inspected—ten years after it was originally applied to the Plaza at Black Mountain.
The Plaza's brown stucco façade had faded to light grey then washed out completely after years of weathering, leaving the stucco exposed to high temperatures and harsh UV rays (left).
In 2010, it was coated with NeverFade Original Topcoat in a custom-matched Sahara Yellow. The coating contractor painted around the existing signs on the storefronts, and in October 2012, one of the tenants exited the property.
At this time, the sign was removed, leaving the bare stucco exposed. Because of NeverFade's extreme UV performance, there was no degradation or color change of the exposed coated areas.
This allowed the contractor to fill in the area with the original Sahara Yellow NeverFade to create a perfect match.
Typically, the contractor would recommend painting the entire elevation, so that there wouldn’t be a noticeable patch job.
During a mid-2019 inspection (right), a building tenant removed a banner hung just after the original application of NeverFade in 2010.
The area behind the banner, unexposed to the harsh sun, was identical in color and appearance to the rest of the wall—a strong testament to the coating's long-term ability to resist chalking and fading.
NeverFade Coatings incorporate Kynar Aquatec, a water-based resin containing polyvinylidene fluorine (PVDF) that prevents NeverFade from degrading in harsh conditions and allows it to resist abrasions, dirt pick-up, as well as mold and mildew growth.
The product also contains complex inorganic pigments that provide superior color retention.
APV offers an industry-leading 15-year product and labor warranty covering color fading and chalking, guaranteeing that NeverFade will dramatically outlast and outperform other high-performance coatings on the market today.
