PPG’s The Future of Coatings’ Technology Innovation Day was held at the company’s European HQs in Amsterdam. Among the innovations being highlighted was the PPG SPRAYMASTER.
The PPG SPRAYMASTER is a portable spray-paint system specifically designed for exterior woodwork. The low-pressure device and unique nozzle design, reduces overspray and provides a perfect finish. It is up to 50% faster compared to brush/roller application, providing quick drying and excellent opacity in one layer.

• The PPG SprayMaster system’s patented low-pressure spray gun allows for the spraying to happen close to the substrate, significantly reducing overspray.
• Narrow exterior areas can now easily be reached while minimizing spray dust and the need for masking.
• It is also more ergonomic for painters versus climbing a ladder and staying in an uncomfortable position while holding a can of paint.
• Painter and end-users benefit from efficiencies including:
- Fast drying time: Faster return to service and doors and windows can be closed within working day
- No need for a second layer: Scaffolding can be removed right after the paint job
• Customer tests showed that the PPG SprayMaster system can deliver time saving of up to 50% compared to conventional brush and roller applications.
• The higher layer thickness applied with the system provides excellent opacity in a single layer without any concerns regarding open time or brush marks.

Key facts
• Outdoor woodwork painting is typically done by brush and roller; conventional spray equipment is not suitable because of the large amount of overspray and spray dust it creates.• The PPG SprayMaster system’s patented low-pressure spray gun allows for the spraying to happen close to the substrate, significantly reducing overspray.
