When Lowe’s customers are looking to paint the interiors and/or exteriors of their homes, one of their options is Stainmaster Paint, Lowe’s excusive paint brand. Well-known for its quality and ability to protect against stains, mold, and mildew, it is a beautiful, easy to clean paint with the full range of colors offered in matte, satin, and semi-gloss sheens.
Stainmaster Paint recently announced English Green as its first Color of the Year. A rich green, it evokes a sense of nature and calm to a home. Monica Reese, Director of Trend and Style for Lowe’s, noted that selecting the Color the Year is new to Lowe’s.
“It’s the first time for Stainmaster Paint, and we are getting much traction,” Reese said. “Stainmaster is a beautiful and well-done brand. The Stainmaster brand is all about livability, and our Color of the Year allows us to showcase our most trend worthy colors.”
Reese said that the selection of English Green is ideal in many ways, as a beautiful rich color and one that hides stains well.
“English Green is earthy and nature inspired, representing growth and renewal,” Reese said. “It’s so deep in hue that it reads like a neutral. English Green pairs flawlessly with warm tones like terracottas, creams and golds as well as cooler tones like blues, grays and even violets.”
Reese said that the versatility in terms of color pairings is yet another benefit of English Green.
“It can take on different aesthetics,” Reese observed. “Our focus is on livability – English Green is a rich color, it hides stains and it’s washable. It’s good for so many spaces where families gather. STAINMASTER brought its trusted brand recognition from carpet into paint. The matte finish allows for a smooth non-reflective surface that tends to hide surface imperfections on the wall while providing cleanability.”
Lowe’s team of color experts used a variety of influences to select the 2024 Color of the Year.
“We are entrenched in what is trending – we went to trade shows all around the world, and we continued to see different colors of green pop up,” said Reese. “We continue to see a multitude of green tones and complimentary colors that work well with English Green. Overall, what we found is there is a deepening of color. Coming out of COVID, people want their home to be a nurturing space, which made English Green the perfect choice to launch our Color of the Year.”
In fact, in the last few years the world has been through many difficult challenges, beginning with COVID-19. Reese said that English Green is ideal for where we are today.
“We learned a lot during the pandemic, we are now ready to heal and move,” Reese said. “Many of us moved outside and embraced nature in a whole new way, and now we are back inside and bringing together lots of beautiful elements from the outdoors. It’s not just paint that is being inspired by nature. There’s a movement toward natural stone in countertops, natural fibers in rugs and textiles are on the rise and floors are moving to warmer wood tones.”
Reese said that the Stainmaster Paint brand is a welcome addition to Lowe’s.
“I’m so excited about our brand and its livability,” Reese concluded. “As we travel to trade shows and look for trends, one thing we constantly hear is that people are looking to make life a little easier. People are busy and they want life to be both beautiful and livable. Stainmaster brings both to our customers. In addition to offering an array of on-trend colors, STAINMASTER paint has a great washability in the matte sheen finish, making it both fashionable and functional for life’s toughest messes.”
