Samhwa Paint recently signed a Color Universal Design (CUD) business agreement with the Universal Design Center in Seoul.
Through this agreement, Samhwa Paint will participate in the color universal design project promoted by the Universal Design Center in Seoul, and collaborate on color education and consulting related to universal design.
Samhwa Paint has been developing color universal designs for the visually impaired, such as the color-blind and the elderly. In 2015, the ‘Color Universal Design Guide for Elderly Welfare Facilities’, which suggested 652 colors and usage standards for each space purpose, and in 2021, ‘Color for the Developmentally Disabled Facilities’, which derived 64 colors considering the emotional impact of color The Universal Design Guide has been completed. In addition, related color books have been released so that they can be easily used at the construction or maintenance site of facilities for the disabled.
“The color environment is very important to build and plan an urban environment free of discrimination for the visually impaired,” Sanghee Lee, head of Samhwa Paint’s Color Design Center, said. “Through this MOU, we will continue to provide mutual support and cooperation in various education and consulting programs such as the color design standard project conducted by the Universal Design Center in Seoul in the future.”
