Valspar’s Pittsburgh, PA plant has been accepted into the U.S. EPA’s National Environmental Performance Track (NEPT) program. The facility is only the second paint and coatings plant in the U.S. to earn this status.
“We are proud of our facility and the corporation’s hard work and dedication to environmental protection and are honored that we have been accepted into this prestigious program,” said Jim Brown, plant manager. “It is vital that all businesses do all they can to protect the environment and the success of our program demonstrates that doing the right thing for the environment can be cost effective, as well as personally rewarding.”
The facility has a record of successful environmental performance. In 1998, it garnered an NPCA Pollution Prevention Award; in 1999 it was admitted into OSHA’s VPP at the star level; and in 2000, it won the Pennsylvania Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence.
