Patent No. U.S. 7,084,211 B2
Kansai Paint Co. has been granted a patent for a cold setting coating composition comprised of an urethane-modified vinyl resin produced by reacting a reaction product with an isocyanate group-possessing compound, the reaction product produced by reacting an epoxy group-containing vinyl copolymer with a fatty acid component containing an unsaturated fatty acid, the vinyl copolymer is a copolymer of a first polymerizable unsaturated monomer containing an epoxy group and a second polymerizable unsaturated monomer; and a polymer dispersion obtained by polymerizing two or more of vinyl monomers in the presence of a dispersion stabilizer in an organic liquid in which vinyl monomers are soluble and a polymer formed from the monomers is insoluble, wherein the dispersion stabilizer is soluble in the organic liquid.
