Coatings World: What markets offer the most opportunity for growth for DAP?
DAP: For DAP, we serve the residential construction and consumer DIY market. Our focus is on heavy volume users – painters, general contractors and heavy DIYers. They are served by Home Depot, Lowe’s, professional lumber yards and paint dealers, and smaller hardware stores. Our strategy is to deliver best-in-class products and educate around how our products are an importnat part of products of pro and DIYers projectss. We believe that is our best formula for growth
CW: What are the latest technologies being offered by DAP?
DAP: Out core technology has been latex caulk and sealants. We continue to work to enhance the ability of water-based chemistry. We are looking to find secondary value such as improved weatherability. We continue to push hybrid chemistry. One example is Dynaflex 800 which has all the benefits of reactive chemistry and meets AAMA 803
