Azelis said its corporate social responsibility performance received a Gold rating – with a score of 68 points, eight points higher than the company tallied in 2017 – from EcoVadis.
Azelis is now in the top one percent of distributors assessed by EcoVadis and top two percent of suppliers in all categories.
Improvement comes from four categories: business practices, labor practices, environment and sustainable procurement.
“This accolade is an appraisal of the group-wide efforts and commitments to install the same high standards for performance across all regions in which we operate.,” said María Jesús Almenar Martin, head of Azelis group Safety, Health, Environment and Quality. “It is an important motivation to stay on this track and continue creating a positive impact on improving fair business practices, labor practices, environment and sustainable procurement globally and to set an example for others.”
To obtain the Gold rating, a company must score between 62 and 100.
“Azelis is committed to working with its partners to create value and grow together in a sustainable way,” Azelis CEO Dr. Hans Joachim Müller said. “As a global business, with operations across America, Asia Pacific and EMEA, Azelis takes its responsibilities very seriously, always looking for new ways to make a positive impact on society and minimize its footprint, whilst delivering the best possible products and services.”
