Dr. Crystal G. Morrison is ChemQuest's newest R&D director, the company said.
Specific areas of Morrison’s expertise include R&D organization design and leadership, innovation culture, aligned business and technical strategy, business development, portfolio management and prioritization, and technical talent development and retention. Dr. Morrison’s technical expertise spans polymer chemistry and engineering, organic chemistry, nanomaterials, coatings and composites.
During her Harold Agnew National Security Postdoctoral fellowship at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (Los Alamos, New Mexico), she designed, synthesized, and characterized materials used in defense projects and weapons systems. After completing her post-doctoral fellowship in 2005, LANL hired Dr. Morrison as a staff scientist.
In January 2015, Morrison joined PPG and became associate director of R&D, Industrial Coatings & Packaging Coatings. In this role, Dr. Morrison led global R&D for two strategic business units covering 11 unique market segments with over $2.5B in annual sales.
In March of 2018, Dr. Morrison founded her firm, EverRise, LLC, where she currently works with technical organizations, including industrial groups and private companies.
Dr. Morrison accepted an invitation to give a TEDx talk in the Spring of 2019 on successful innovation.
