PPG Industries' automotive refinish business will go all-out Feb. 21-22 for its first appearance at the Easyriders Bike Show. The show, part of the Easyriders national tour of “The Biggest, Baddest Bike Shows in North America,” takes place at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Ohio and draws motorcycle enthusiasts from throughout the Midwest.
PPG will make its debut with an array of advanced refinish products, custom bikes and the latest half tanks and speed shapes along with a display of artwork by the industry’s top painters. Celebrities from the motorcycle world will also be on hand to welcome guests. PPG will showcase the VIBRANCE COLLECTION refinish product line featuring CRYSTALLANCE glass flakes, which create bright, intense finishes. Available in silver, sapphire, jade, garnet, topaz and opal pigments, the easy-to-use flakes provide an exceptional sparkle effect and are compatible with DELTRON, GLOBAL REFINISH SYSTEM, ENVIROBASE High Performance and AQUABASE Plus basecoat systems as well as with all other Vibrance Collection custom finishes such as RADIANCE II candy dyes. Products such as these enable custom bike and car painters to unlock their imaginations and create stunning color schemes.
Show attendees can check out bikes brought in specifically for this event by painter-builders Chris MacMahan and T.J. Gefert. MacMahan will exhibit two bikes: a Vietnam Tribute Big Dog Chopper and a Hog-O-Ween Harley Road Glide covered with characters from horror films. Both bikes were built in his shop, Aerografix Airbrush and Pinstriping in Elyria, Ohio, and finished with Deltron and Vibrance Collection products. Gefert, owner of Innovative Autoworks in Wexford, Pennsylvania, will show his 2008 Harley Street Glide painted by Jeremy Seanor of PPG using Crystallance and Envirobase High Performance products.
PPG’s latest half tanks and speed shapes, used as canvases by top industry artists to evaluate finishes and design schemes and to display their individual talents, show cutting-edge trends in color and design. A variety of other work by custom bike and car artists will also be displayed. All Easyriders show attendees are invited to visit the PPG booth, where PPG representatives will demonstrate products and answer questions.
In addition, anyone interested in learning about PPG and PPG products may call 800-647-6050 or visit the PPG Automotive Refinish website at www.ppgrefinish.com.
