BASF TOTAL Petrochemicals LLC recently awarded $25,000 to the United Way of Mid & South Jefferson County. The funds will support the organization’s work with community programs and services, focusing on education, health and self-sufficiency.
“The employees of BASF TOTAL Petrochemicals demonstrate commitment to the communities in which they live and work through their tireless efforts in giving back,” said Greg Masica, Vice President and Site Manager of the Port Arthur plant. “Through creative and exciting engagement, they raised funds critical to the United Way and their twenty-two agency partners.”
BASF TOTAL’s Port Arthur plant employees raised funds through events which included the annual BASF TOTAL-sponsored Live United 5K & 1K for Kids in Port Neches Park, a competitive employee Chili Cook Off, email BINGO, and the 5th Annual Burger Bash. Additional funds in excess of $32,000 will be awarded through the BASF employee workplace giving campaign.
“The United Way thanks BASF TOTAL Petrochemicals for their generous donation,” said Janie Johnson, Executive Director at United Way of Mid & South Jefferson County. “Each year their employees join together to raise much needed funds for our programs and services to create opportunities to enhance the lives of those in our community. We greatly appreciate their dedicated support.”
