Code Blue, Allegedly and Tuesday won their sailing classes in the 2016 Star of the North Regatta, host by Wayzata Yacht Club and presented by Sika Corporation.
The three-day regatta ran September 16-18 on Minnesota’s Lake Minnetonka, and hosted nearly 40 racing yachts and over 200 crew members across three classes of sailing craft: Capri 25, Sonar and S2 7.9. Among the pack were several Canadian boats and crew, joining the event for the first time.
Although the weather was threatening at the beginning of the race series - with overcast skies and passing mist - things cleared by Friday afternoon, leading to a weekend full of good sailing weather. Shifting winds kept things interesting, and really put skippers and crews to the test to stay on course.
Following an exciting weekend of racing, the following yachts and respective skippers are announced as winners in the 2016 Star of the North Regatta:

Regatta Chairman, Odell Tuttle says, “The 2016 Star of the North Regatta presented by Sika is hands-down the best event we've hosted in years. We had excellent wind that allowed our professional race committee to conduct 10 consecutive races without issue or interruption. This 12-year-old annual event, once again, managed to attract participants from around the United States and Canada for what is arguably the best inland lake regatta in the country. The weather was beautiful, the races were super competitive, and the participants enjoyed a truly fun event. Myself and the other organizers are very pleased, and don't know how we will possibly top this event next year. All of this would not have been possible without the generous support of our trusted partner Sika.”
Sika had previously sponsored the Catalina 25, 250 & Capri 25 National Regatta, in 2014 at Wayzata Yacht Club, and for this event, had representatives on hand to distribute samples of product and answer boat owners’ questions.
