PPG announced that the PPG Foundation recently invested nearly $40,000 in seven Alabama organizations in support of educational programs. The grants were made in the third quarter of 2018 on behalf of PPG’s aerospace facility in Huntsville, Alabama.

- American Association of University Women: $6,000 to sponsor young women from across Alabama to attend the organization’s Tech Trek science and math camp;
- Cap & Gown Project: $1,000 to fund college tours for high school students from low-income homes to create academic opportunities for underrepresented students;
- Columbia High School: $5,000 to support the school’s FIRST Robotics program, which offers students a chance to work with industry professionals, get exposure to career options, go on exclusive career tours and internships and get help with college considerations;
- Free 2 Teach Foundation: $2,000 in free student supplies and classroom resources for public school teachers in Madison County, Ala.;
- Madison City Schools: $5,000 to purchase necessary materials and supplies for students and teachers to explore science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) and other science-based fields;
- Ronald E. McNair Junior High School: $5,000 to establish the school’s first all-female Greenpower team to help students further explore STEM fields;
- U.S. Space & Rocket Center Foundation: $15,000 to sponsor AVIATION CHALLENGE® teams and provide scholarships for children with financial need to attend Aviation Challenge programs.
