R.D. Abbott Co., Inc. signed a new distribution agreement with LORD Corporation, a global diversified technology and manufacturing company, to expand its distribution of LORD adhesives and coatings to Canada.
This new agreement will be facilitated and managed locally by RDAbbott’s newly established division, RDAbbott Canada, Ltd., based out of Burlington, Ontario, in the Greater Toronto Area.
Prior to this revised distribution agreement, RDAbbott represented LORD Corporation in the western United States and Mexico. RDAbbott also distributed LORD In-Mold Bonding Adhesives (IMB) throughout North America.
Effective Jan. 1, 2019, the new distribution agreement includes the following brand names and products: Chemlok, Flocklok, IMB, Co-Laminated Chemlok Film, LokRelease, and Sipiol.
“Since 1958, LORD and RDAbbott have been working together to help customers solve critical rubber-to-substrate bonding challenges,” said Scott Kearns, president of RDAbbott. “As we begin 2019, we look forward to working together in the Canadian market and bringing customers the best value in rubber-to-substrate adhesion by leveraging RDAbbott’s bonding experience and LORD’s industry-leading adhesion technologies.”
The LORD adhesives and coatings covered by this new distribution agreement are used in a wide range of mining and related industries. Some key applications include solid tire vehicles, rubber track crawlers, rubber tank linings, functional components for the automotive industry, and custom rubber molding for the oil, gas, and energy industries.
RDAbbott is currently stocking its warehouses in western, central, and eastern Canada with LORD brands and plans to have products available for shipment by the middle of February 2019.
