announced that it has received the Best Performer Award from Airbus for its timely delivery of quality flight-deck windows. PPG was one of three suppliers among hundreds in the equipment and systems category to receive the award, which is part of the aircraft manufacturer’s Supply Chain and Quality Improvement Program (SQIP).
Brent Wright, PPG global director, aerospace transparencies, accepted the award for PPG during the Airbus Equipment and Systems SQIP Day at the Airbus site in Toulouse, France.
Also attending the ceremonies were Didier Biron, PPG key account director for Airbus; Stirling Macfarlane, PPG segment manager, commercial original-equipment transparencies; and Andrew Troller, PPG manager, process quality, Huntsville, Alabama. PPG manufactures the flight-deck windows for Airbus at its Huntsville facility.
“PPG is honored to be recognized by Airbus for the timely delivery of quality flight-deck windows,” Wright said. “Through the hard work and dedication of PPG employees across our aerospace business, especially those in Huntsville and Toulouse, we have maintained 100 percent on-time delivery performance and produced windows with no quality deviations since mid-2017. This award is also a tribute to the strong collaboration and communication between our companies, and PPG looks forward to building on this achievement.”
PPG manufactures flight-deck windows for all variants of the Airbus A320 single-aisle family and A330 long-range family.
