Tnemec Company, Inc. has launched a new podcast – Codings Decoded. The podcast is made for both commercial and industrial contractors and is focused on providing them with coatings tips for projects through conversations with industry leaders.
“Launching this podcast is an important step in providing our customers with all the tools they need to be successful on every job,” said Mark Thomas, VP of marketing at Tnemec and podcast host. “We will cover a wide variety of industry related topics that may not always be top of mind for contractors but are important considerations when thinking about coating projects.”
The podcast kicked off with the first episode, “AAMP and the Coatings Contractor,” featuring Bob Chalker, CEO of the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AAMP). In the episode, Chalker joins Thomas and Cory Brown, executive VP of Tnemec, to discuss the merger between The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) and The National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE). They discuss everything from certifications to inspection status and specifications.
“Expert guests like Chalker add invaluable insights to the podcast,” said Brown. “We’re committed to discussing key topics that are of concern to contractors in a way that is both educational and entertaining, all while providing an edge to listeners who can use the information in future jobsite discussions and decisions.”
The second episode, titled “Understanding the Needs of Food and Beverage Facilties,” features Dan O’Toole, director of sales, food, beverage and specialty markets for Tnemec. In the episode, he breaks down the importance of cleanable and durable coatings in food and pharmaceutical facilities – highlighting the differences between FDA and USDA compliance and helping to designate coating types that limit maintenance, damage and mold/mildew.
“We also hope to utilize in-house experts, like O’Toole, throughout the podcast,” said Brown. “Every person at Tnemec provides tremendous value to our customers and we want to showcase our areas of strength to help contractors provide that expertise to their customers, too.”
Future episodes plan to discuss: the importance of a good brush/roller; information on spray equipment; sustainable building regulations; and much more. The first two episodes of the biweekly podcast are now available on the Tnemec website, Apple, Spotify, Google, Stitcher and TuneIn.
