Brilliant Group has announced two important additions to its team. Mike Oberski is joining Brilliant as its new technical sales manager, and Alex Gerasimov is Brilliant’s new plant manager.
Bringing a solid background and more than 28 years’ experience in pigments and printing inks, Oberski has held positions of chemist and senior chemist at Flint Ink, their digital ink division Jetrion/EFI, and Dart Container. More recently he spent the last nine years as technical industry manager, pigments for inks at BASF/Sun Chemical.
Oberski holds a BS degree in Polymers & Coating Technology from Eastern Michigan University, has eight patents in printing ink technology and has an additional nine patents pending. He is the 2022 recipient of the NAPIM Technical Associate Member (TAM) Service Award for contributions to success and support of the printing ink industry.
Based in Ann Arbor, MI, Oberski will be focused on supporting and managing Brilliant’s US and Canadian distribution network comprised of Brandt Technologies, Terra Firma and Northspec and for driving revenue growth through the region.
“We are thrilled to announce that Mike Oberski has joined our team,” said Brilliant Group president Darren Bianchi. “Mike joins Brilliant bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge in the pigments and printing ink industries. He was recently awarded the NAPIM TAM award, teaches an annual NAPIM course and also holds a number of patents. Mike will be working directly with our USA and Canadian distributors supporting them in those countries. We are beyond excited to have Mike apply his expertise to help our customers in North America.”
Gerasimov brings a wealth of knowledge from a long history in manufacturing, with more than 15 years of leadership experience, including eight years as branch operations manager with Sherwin Williams. Among a multitude of activities, Gerasimov has led teams, implemented Lean Manufacturing and 5S programs, managed EH&S, and conducted OSHA training.
He will be responsible for running Brilliant’s US manufacturing plant in Richmond, CA, driving continuous improvement and excellence in Lean Manufacturing, and further building out the manufacturing team to support Brilliant’s growing business.
“We are beyond excited to have Alex apply his expertise and look forward to his contributions in bringing our manufacturing to the next level,” Bianchi said.
