Red Cross and Red Crescent – Jotun’s longtime partners in humanitarian aid support – are supporting civilians in several countries in the conflict areas. There is a massive need for help in the region. To help out, Jotun donated NOK 2 million ($180,000) to humanitarian aid in the Middle East region.
The situation in the Middle East is unpredictable, and in several parts of the region people live in fear of what may come. There is a need for clean water and health services, as well as support for refugees who have been forced to abandon their homes.
“Volunteers from the Red Cross and Red Crescent organization in all the countries in the region are now on call around the clock to ensure that people in a very stressful situation get the help they need - both by offering food, health services and a roof over their heads,” said Jørgen Haldorsen of the Norwegian Red Cross.
“A part of our corporate responsibility strategy is to take responsibility in the areas where we operate, and Jotun wants to contribute with financial support in emergency situations in countries where Jotun is located. By choosing Red Cross and Red Crescent as our partner, we know that the money is spent according to our intention,” said Øyvind Willumsen Haugå, group communications director.
