According to show organizers Vincentz Network, the European Coatings Show set new records yet again, underscoring its position as the leading show for the international coatings industry.
The ECS had approximately 30,500 trade visitors* (2017: 30,198) from 124 countries (2017: 120). There were 1,156 exhibitors from 46 countries (2017: 40) offering information on the latest innovations for the paint and coatings industry. The exhibition area, extending to eight halls this year, turned the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg into the central platform for coatings experts from around the world to share ideas and experiences.
Exhibitors and trade visitors came from six continents to attend this biennial show and conference. They had more space this year, with eight halls in total. In six of them, including Hall 9 as a new addition, exhibitors displayed raw materials used in paints, printing inks and adhesives, while two halls were devoted to lab and production technology, and testing and measurement devices.
The European Coatings Conference attracted approximately 880 people from 54 countries, featured 24 sessions and had a total of 144 presentations offering insight into the latest research results.
The Conference began with the plenary session, including a keynote presentation from Prof. Markus Antonietti, managing director at the Max Planck Institute for Colloids and Interfaces. He discussed the latest approaches and processes for the manufacture of monomers, solvents, plastizers and hardenable oligomer systems from wood-like waste products.
European Coatings Show Award
The winner of the European Coatings Show Award for the best lecture at the European Coatings Show Conference 2019 was Dr. Christopher Miller from Arkema. The title of his work was "Developing a Deeper Understanding of the Effect of Latex Design Parameters on Final Coating Film Properties.”
The next European Coatings Show takes place in Nuremberg March 23-25 2021.
