BASF’s Walltite Eco polyurethane foam insulation/air barrier was classified as a finalist in Quebec’s second annual Concours Écoconception 2012, an event which recognizes innovative and sustainable initiatives in the Province of Quebec.
This past June, more than 200 attendees from various industries gathered at l’eXcentris Cinema Theatre in Montreal, Quebec, for Concours Écoconception, which celebrates leadership and expertise that combines research and development, design and socio-environmental concerns. Submissions for this year’s Concours Écoconception were judged in three categories: economic, social and environmental considerations; measurable results of economic, social and environmental development; and innovation.
Walltite Eco is a medium-density polyurethane foam insulation/air barrier system designed to improve the energy efficiency of buildings. As a spray applied system requiring no fasteners, Walltite Eco maximizes the performance of the building envelope and allows heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to operate more efficiently, helping reduce
energy costs the company said.
Walltite Eco was the first closed-cell spray polyurethane insulation to obtain the EcoLogo, a widely recognized multi-attribute environmental certification. The EcoLogo’s criteria include aggressive rates of recycled content and the promotion of products that conserve resources.
This product has also been certified under the Greenguard Children & Schools Certification Program for indoor air quality.
