Carpoly offers products and services to the furniture and decorative paints market. The company has 3,200 employees; eight production facilities located in Guangdong, Shanghai, Sichuan and Hebei; and approximately 2,100 direct distributors and more than 15,000 points of sales throughout China. The company has nine manufacturing facilities throughout China. Architectural coatings comprises 72.6% of sales, general industrial and industrial wood comprise 26% and printing ink 1.4%.
Chinese company Beijing New Building Materials (BNBM) has agreed to acquire a 78.34% stake in Carpoly. Upon completion of this transaction, Carpoly will become a subsidiary of BNBM. The deal is expected to significantly enhance BNBM’s market presence in the paint and coating sector of China.
Currently, BNBM’s paint and coating operations are confined only to the northern market of the country. According to published reports, the acquisition is expected to increase the company’s production capacity more than tenfold.
