l Dutch Boy DIY’ers can look forward to an easier-to-use paint can thanks to a new container selected by Sherwin-Williams. Dutch Boy paint now features the “Twist & Pour” paint container, an all-plastic gallon with a twist-off lid, side handle and a so-called “neat-pour” spout.
The new lid eliminates the need for paint keys or screw drivers to open the container and also provides a tight seal for storing leftover paint. The lightweight container will also take up less space on the store shelves, as the new design is stackable. According to company officials, 14 Twist & Pour containers can be shelved in space occupied by 12 metal cans.
The initial product to be packaged in the container is Dutch Boy Dirt Fighter. Additional products, including Dimensions, Kid’s Room and Climate Guard exterior paint, will also be sold in the new package.
“We tested numerous package designs with consumers around the country and incorporated all these features to make the painting process easier and less messy,” said Adam Chafe, Dutch Boy director of marketing.
