Samples after compression are released through a valve into a waiting receptacle. Dropping rapidly from almost 2,700 atmospheres to 1 atmosphere will allow for physical changes to systems being studied. The small sample quantities (from 1.5ml to 35ml) mean valid tests can be performed on high value products with minimal losses.
