Axalta Coating Systems was recognized as one of the “Top 100 Enterprises” contributing to the evolution of China’s coatings industry as well as one of the “Most Influential Enterprises” by the China National Coatings Industry Association (CNCIA), which recently celebrated a century of coatings’ industrial development in China.
Both awards were calculated on a weighted basis, based principally on an online survey and analysis of the company’s contribution to the coatings industry. Additional data were drawn from other areas, such as overall brand awareness in China as well as awareness within China’s chemical and coatings industries.
“This is a satisfying achievement for Axalta and a testament to our spirit of innovation, commitment to sustainability and our long-term contribution to the coatings industry in China. It also reflects our desire to work hand-in-hand with players throughout the entire industrial value chain to create a more innovative, more sustainable and more colorful world for people in China,” said Luke Lu, Vice President of Axalta and President of its business in China.
Commenting on the awards, Sun Lianying, Chairman of the CNCIA said, “Axalta has been a pioneer in the global coatings industry for more nearly 150 years. Since Axalta entered the China market, it has used its rich experience and professional insights to help Chinese enterprises and industries to improve quality, efficiency, safety and sustainability. We look forward to Axalta’s new progress in the next century.”
Axalta’s most significant contributions to China’s coatings industry in recent years have been its environmentally responsible coating technology and color solutions. Axalta’s Eco-Concept process, upgraded 3-Wet Waterborne system, and high solids 2-Wet Monocoat system substantially increase productivity on the paint line while simultaneously lowering energy consumption and VOC emissions in line with today’s environmental requirements.
Axalta has been operating in China since 1984. The CNCIA award recognizes Axalta’s leadership role in developing innovative, cutting-edge coating products. Axalta manages liquid coatings production operations in the Jiading district of Shanghai and in Changchun, six powder coating operations in collaboration with its joint venture partner, four refinish training centers, and a Global Color Lab. Axalta also operates its Asia Pacific Innovation Center and its Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters in Shanghai.
