To help its customers address today’s technology challenges, Sartomer Americas, a business unit of Arkema Inc., has named Dr. Jeffrey Klang director of research and development. In his new role, Klang will lead R&D programs to support development and growth of high-value applications and technologies within Sartomer’s key end-use markets, including coatings, graphic arts, adhesives, sealants, elastomers, electronics and 3D printing. He will also ensure that Sartomer’s R&D efforts continue to align with current customer, market and regulatory needs.

Klang’s extensive experience in R&D and product management includes three previous roles with Sartomer, including manager of coatings platform R&D, manager of product and process development, and group leader of monomer development. Prior to Sartomer he held a variety of R&D roles at ARCO Chemical.
“Our customers need a wide range of advanced chemical solutions to continue developing the most innovative offerings in their markets,” said Dr. Poonam Narula, director of business development, Sartomer Americas. “Jeff has proven that he can lead strong R&D programs that effectively support the evolving needs of customers in many diverse industries.”
Klang earned his BS in chemistry from the University of Minnesota and his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Cornell University and carried out postdoctoral research in inorganic chemistry at Indiana University.
