Recognized as one of the most important events for the paint and coatings industry worldwide, ABRAFATI 2017 is going to bring together leading companies and thousands of professionals interested in gaining knowledge and making deals, having positive effects on the industry over time in terms of both business and technological evolution.
The main focus for this 15th edition of the trade show is on ways of adding value to coatings, which will be highlighted at the booths as well as the presentations to be made at the Congress.
As has been the case in previous editions, ABRAFATI 2017 is expected to give the industry a boost towards innovation and value creation, as it builds an environment favorable to interaction and discussion of new ideas, partnerships, negotiations, and the incorporation of new technologies, among other benefits.
To that end, leading international experts will be sharing their studies and research efforts with the audiences. The broad technical and scientific program for the Congress comprises 90 lectures to be presented over three days, three plenary sessions with personalities of great relevance, plus a few dozen papers at the Poster Session, as well as a seminar on radiation curing to be held in conjunction with RadTech South America, and a seminar on responsible consumption and use of solvents.
In total, 150 studies are going to be presented, all in line with the main goal of the event, which is to add value to paints and coatings. They are papers characterized by their technical quality, innovative profile, and relevance to technological development. As part of that highly innovative profile, highlighted themes touch on paint quality and performance, such as durability, strength, hiding power and drying properties, and also on the role coatings play in fighting corrosion. Also featured are major contributions to advancement in areas like the application of nano-technology, the latest solutions in microbiology, the use of raw materials from renewable sources, the reuse of process waste, and improvements in the indoor air quality and energy efficiency of buildings. “It’s going to be an opportunity for people to gain a panoramic view of the megatrends dictating the paths for the coatings industry moving forward and the innovations developed with a view to following them,” said Telma Florêncio, director of Corporate Events at ABRAFATI.
At the Exhibition, to be held simultaneously, attendees will be able to network with over 180 exhibitors from the Americas, Europe and Asia, among them key suppliers of raw materials, equipment, technologies and services to the industry, allowing paint manufacturers to learn about novel developments and trends, while finding resources and new ideas to improve their products and processes at the same time.
“With the challenging economic situation Brazil is in, this edition of the exhibition is viewed as a great occasion for networking and creating new business opportunities. We have a highly qualified group of exhibitors that will be showcasing the best of their offerings to our visitors, who will be there in search of answers to the demands from both consumers and the various markets served by the paint and coatings industry. The overall theme for the show, which is ‘Adding Value,’ has a lot to do with that, as well as the introduction of the latest developments and cutting-edge research prioritizing innovations in key aspects like performance, sustainability, functionalities, and ease of application,” ABRAFATI executive president Antonio Carlos de Oliveira pointed out.
As far as innovation goes, one of the main features of this edition is the new venue —São Paulo Expo. “As it is the most modern events and exhibition center in Brazil, that will allow all our audiences to have an even richer experience during ABRAFATI 2017,” Telma stressed. The facility provides a series of benefits, such as an advanced Wi-Fi infrastructure, well-planned lighting (using LED lamps), and air conditioning serving the entire hall. “São Paulo Expo offers the best resources and conditions so that companies can use all of their creativity and get their launching products and innovative solutions in the spotlight. The Congress space, too, is a substantial improvement, featuring modern rooms ideally suited for hosting lectures and plenary sessions such as those to be presented at our show, where congress participants and attendees will gain not only access to state-of-the-art multimedia aids, but also comfort and convenience,” she added.
