PPG completed a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES project at the Industrial Park in Pilar that helped revitalize the site’s bus shelters. The Colorful Communities program provides PPG volunteers and paint products along with financial contributions to bring color and vitality to communities where the company operates around the world, such as in Pilar, where PPG operates Industrial, Automotive OEM, Automotive Refinish and Packaging Coatings facilities.
The project brought together more than 20 PPG volunteers, who spent approximately 80 hours revitalizing 26 bus shelters in Argentina’s largest industrial park that sees more than 20,000 people daily. PPG provided $5,750 to assist with the project, including brushes, protective equipment and 25 gallons of PPG’s industrial paint products in white and green colors.
“PPG is proud to brighten communities where we work and play, no matter how big or small the project may be,” said Raquel Degam Klemz, PPG communications supervisor, Latin America. “This Colorful Communities project will have a positive impact for years to come for the many people of Pilar who use the bus shelters.”
The Colorful Communities program is PPG’s signature initiative for community engagement efforts, with the aim to protect and beautify the neighborhoods where PPG operates around the world. The program increases PPG’s commitment to invest in communities and supports projects that transform community assets, providing PPG volunteers and donated PPG products. In 2015 and 2016 combined, PPG completed nearly 60 Colorful Communities projects, and it expects to complete about 75 more this year.
