Asian Paints is India’s largest paint company and ranked among the top ten decorative coatings companies in the world with sales of $1.99 bn in 2012. The Middle East contributes 51.3% to international paint sales; Asia 26.8%, Caribbean 13.9% and South Pacific 8%. Asian Paints operates 24 manufacturing facilities across the globe. The largest share is in South Asia, where the firm runs 13 plants spread throughout India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and Singapore. There are five plants in the Middle East in Egypt, Oman, Bahrain and Dubai. In the South Pacific islands of Fiji, Vanuatu and Samoa, Asian Paints runs three plants. Lastly, in the Caribbean, Jamaica, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago each are home to a facility. Subsidiaries include Berger International, SCIB Paints – Egypt, Asian Paints, Apco Coatings and Taubmans. Asian Paints markets the following architectural brands in India: Apex, Ace and Apex Ultima for exterior walls; Royale, Tractor, Premium Emulsion, Apcolite and Utsav for interior walls; Apcolite and Utsav for metal surfaces; and PU, Melamyne, Apcolite and Utsav for wood. Asian Paints recently expanded its production capacity at Rohtak (Haryana, India) from 150,000 KL per annum to 200,000 KL per annum. This plant can be further scaled to produce 400,000 KL per annum. The Rohtak Plant was set up in April 2010. The other paint manufacturing facilities of Asian Paints in India are located at Mumbai (Maharastra), Ankleshwar (Gujarat), Kasna (Uttar Pradesh), Patancheru (Andhra Pradesh) and Sriperumbudur (Tamil Nadu). The Kesurdi (Khandala, Maharashtra) plant was commissioned in February 2013.
