Dow Corning Corporation has introduced a new siloxane-based additive for controlling foam in low- to medium-PVC water-based coatings and inks. Dow Corning 108F Additive is a highly efficient defoaming agent designed to deliver an optimized balance of foam control and compatibility in a wide variety of waterborne coatings and inks.
“While Dow Corning 108F Additive can deliver excellent results in many waterborne paint and ink systems, it is designed especially for use in premium gloss applications – such as wood coatings, industrial coatings and inks – where its low tendency to cause craters or other surface defects is especially valuable,” said Dow Corning Coatings Global Segment Leader Chris Wall.
The product, which has limited noticeable impact on surface appearance, is effective at very low use levels, and its emulsion format makes it easy to dose and use. Additionally, Dow Corning 108F Additive is APEO-free, low-VOC and suitable for indirect-food-contact applications.
