“They provide the same high-performance properties as fossil-based products but with a much lower carbon footprint,” said David Engberg, product manager, Specialty Polyols.
Several new bio-based products were launched at the show. Charmor Pro is a carbon donor for intumescent coatings. The coating expands, protecting steel girders, for example, and thereby “providing that vital extra time needed to save lives and buildings,” said Engberg.
Another new product is Curalite Pro, an oxetane for cationic UV curing, which is suitable for sensitive applications such as metal can rims on account of its good adhesion, low migration and zero shrinkage.
Perstorp’s new services are designed to support customers throughout their business cycle – from initial product need to market implementation and beyond. They include dedicated development and technical support alongside new digital services such as PerCalc, a formulation calculator that helps customers arrive rapidly at a final formulation and a CO2 calculator that determines the carbon footprint savings when switching from fossil products.
