According to a report from CHEM Research, the global demand for paints and coatings has resumed growth in the third quarter of 2020. On a volume basis, the demand grew by + 1% in Q3, in year-over-year comparison. This also represents a + 9% recovery from the previous quarter (Q2 2020).
Growth is primarily supported by the building sector, where the decorative paint consumption expanded by 6.5% in terms of volume. This is owed to a large extent to the strong sales of DIY products in Europe and North America. On the other hand, the industrial coating demand volume is down by 6.5% compared to 2019. The moderate industrial demand recovery from the COVID-19 crisis is expected to last through 2021.
The current developments in the global market for paints and coatings and the TOP 11 companies in this industry are detailed in the new report entitled “The TOP 11 Global Paint and Coating Producers - Quarterly Review.” The third quarter report will be issued by the specialised market research and consultancy firm CHEM Research in mid-November 2020.
