H.B. Fuller Company is a global manufacturer and marketer of adhesives and other specialty chemical products. The company is managed through four regional operating segments in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific. The largest business component in each of the regional segments is adhesives. H.B. Fuller posted sales of $2.104 billion in 2014.
The company recently made a number of acquisitions. H.B. Fuller finalized the purchase of Continental Products Limited, a provider of industrial adhesives to the East and Central Africa markets.
The addition of this business supports H.B. Fuller’s growth strategy for emerging markets, as it will enable the company to fully leverage its broad-based technology portfolio and effectively deliver specialty adhesive products to key customers in East and Central Africa.
The Continental business generated approximately €2.3 million in revenue for the 2014 fiscal year. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, Continental will be included in H.B. Fuller’s Europe, India, Middle East, Africa (EIMEA) operating segment.
The company has also finalized the previously announced purchase of TONSAN Adhesive, Inc., the largest independent engineering adhesives provider in China. TONSAN generated approximately $100 million in revenue in 2014. H.B. Fuller has acquired 95 percent of the equity of TONSAN for cash consideration of Rmb 1. billion, or about $225 million. The results of this business will be included in H.B. Fuller’s Asia Pacific operating segment going forward.
