Korea Chemical Co., Ltd. is the largest paint producer in South Korea. The company is involved in the production of paints for automobiles, ships, containers, construction and industrial use. It also manufactures PVC material for flooring and paint sealant.
Paint for the marine market is the largest segment and accounted for 25 percent of sales. Automotive OEM sales amounted to 17 percent of sales; decorative coatings accounted for 15 percent; general industrial six percent; powder coatings six percent; auto refinish four percent; and the remainder of sales is not detailed.
One of the company’s key products is Firemask SQ-1350, a fire resistant paint that has won certification from the Korea Institute of Construction Technology for offering one-hour fire resistance, with a minimum coating thickness of 0.7 mm.
KCC recently held a signing ceremony at the Asan Foundation located in Seoul for repainting work to improve the environment and scenery of Asan Medical Centers nationwide. Through this agreement, KCC will support 1.2 billion won in painting work for Asan Medical Centers located in seven regions. The paints used are not only environmentally friendly paints such as SUPRO Multimel Gold and SUPRO Well-being but also other various functional paints, which include waterproofing materials like Sporthane.
KCC is making efforts to cultivate a mutually beneficial ecosystem with the community by providing community services based on the company’s own technology. KCC plans to continue practical exchange with the society through customized supporting activities in various methods.
