One of the things I always do at the beginning of the new year is organize my travel plans for all the major coatings trade shows and conferences. 2017 is looking to be quite busy in terms of quality technical conferences and trade shows. I will be traveling to a number of major industry events throughout the year.
Here is a look at some of the key events being held in the first half of 2017.
January 18-20 I will be in Shanghai to attend the biennial Coatings Summit, in which senior coatings executives have a unique opportunity to network and share ideas. This is the first year it is being held in Asia and look forward to the fresh perspective it will be bring.
The School of Polymers and High Performance Materials at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) will hold its 44th Annual International Waterborne, High-Solids and Powder Coatings Symposium February 19-24 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Waterborne Symposium is a technical forum for environmentally friendly coatings technologies. Proceeds from the symposium are used by USM for various elements of academic program development including junior faculty development, graduate student stipends, equipment acquisition and maintenance, and especially scholarships for undergraduate students majoring in Polymer Science. Coatings World will once again be hosting a panel discussion about key issues effecting the paint and coatings industry.
The European Coatings Show (ECS) plus Adhesives, Sealants, Construction Chemicals will be held April 4-6. Held in Nuremberg, Germany, this leading exhibition for the international coating and paint industry is held every two years. We will be reporting from the show floor and posting videos and photos live each day.
May 15-17 the Coatings World team is headed to Atlantic City, New Jersey for the Eastern Coatings Show. The East Coast’s largest event dedicated to coatings, paints, sealants and adhesives industries is entering its 3rd year of existence. This year’s Eastern Coatings Show looks to secure more than 150 exhibitors with close to 1,500 attendees for its 2017 edition.
Hopefully you will be able to make a few of these key events, but in the case you can’t make it in person, be sure to keep up with the latest coverage both online and in our print magazine. Here’s to a prosperous 2017!
